Have you Rooted your phone? and why?
1) Just to do it? OR
2) to unlock hidden features
3) Add more functionality?
I have NOT Rooted my phone... I figured it wasnt really worth it and Honestly I dont know much about it...

I also use it for the free Wifi Tether.
With Cynogenmod and the Tiamat Kernel I probably gained about an extra 2/3 hours of battery life out of the phone.

There was a forum that I was at that really was about the Huawei Ascend (M860) but that forum seems to be changed or gone... so i am left without the info (not looking to hard)
I think I wouldnt mind trying it as I know there were ROMs out there for my phone but they weren't without issue...
even with the Steam app loaded to my phone...it just being Online kills my battery in 4 hours or less and the battery is in Great Health... with it off I can go 2 days easy on light use like just texting

And Terry not to take away traffic from TA, but head over to http://forum.xda-developers.com/
This site has all your rooting needs. Find your phone and go to town.. But read, read, read..
Old ways to root your phone are still on the site and I have had friends that used old (outdated) methods to root their phones and ended up bricking them.
If you do want to do it let us know. We can help guide you through it.

I rooted because I need tethering capabilities for writing on the go, BUT... I have since fallen in love with all the awesome mods and tweeks you can do to your phone. If you saw how fast my phone can flick through homescreens you'd trip out! Seriously, as fast as your finger can move - no lag. Luckily with the Trinity kernel set to 1350-350MHz with a conservative governor I still get 12+ hours with heavy use. Do all that on a stock GNex!!
That battery life is pretty sick dude.

Think that's good!? Check this out!!

Of course that's with medium usage and mostly Wi-Fi, but still. Pretty damn good compared to what it was out of the box.
